Kristalyn Loftis

Kristalyn was presented with the opportunity to serve as Business Manager for Gordon Bernell Charter School in October 2013. Although the list of responsibilities is extensive, her primary responsibilities include financial management, human resources, budget, and overall business operations of the school.

Kristalyn attended the University of New Mexico, graduating cum laude and received her degree in Business Management/Accounting from the Anderson School of Management. At UNM, she was a member of the Dean’s List, National Society of Collegiate Scholars, and Golden Key International Honors Society. Along with focusing on her academics, she also enjoyed participating in The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training.

After graduation, she began her career in public accounting performing governmental, not‐for‐profit, and small business audits around the state of New Mexico. Having a background in auditing allowed her to see and experience several different types of organizations up close and helped to develop a broad base of accounting knowledge. It also allowed her to find an interest in the education system, specifically charter schools.

“I love the challenge this job brings every day and I love being able to work in a school that has such a passion for its mission," says Kristalyn. "I find it both rewarding and humbling to be a part of the Gordon Bernell team and witness the hard work and dedication of the staff to make their mission a reality. I am excited to start this new chapter in my career and look forward to being a part of the future of Gordon Bernell Charter School.”
